This year's perennial seminar, that took place after 14. in line again took place in a very friendly atmosphere. Professionals from various spheres of the gardening profession used the late February time to enrich and inspiration between perennials. For the second time in a row, the seminar took place in the auditorium of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague-Suchdole.
Topic “Beauty rooted in perennials” offered lectures focused primarily on perennial aesthetics. German kindergarten Beate Zillmer spoke about the development of perennials and cultivars, As the number of taxa changed over the years and which species have experienced ascension and falls. Lithuania arrived by a gardener and influencer auke recharge, whose presentation about the winter – “Season of silence” inspired many of us. I am already thinking about, where I add some hedge. With a joke and ease, Standa Schwarz allowed us to look under the lid of his creative process.
We also managed to declare a perennial of the season, that became the genus epimedium (scorn). You can read more about it in article here >>.
During lunch and all day there was an amazingly friendly atmosphere full of meetings of ancient or even facebook friendships. The participants could watch Hanka Kindelmann Šebest in the afternoon, How skillfully binds the spring bouquet from Chemeřice and her talk about perennials in floristics. Honza Makovička showed us his approach to the creation of perennial beds during his career and an interesting realization in front of the elementary school in Třeboň.
Last lecturer, Vlasta Hábová shared with us the experience of creating a private garden of all possible plants and proved, that even a very diverse Staněiště can be combined into a uniform whole.
