Workshop – Peren in the Dendrological Garden

The garden was established in the middle 70. years to study trees, perennials and bulbs, which will be useful in our climate. The biggest boom experienced in the middle of a garden 80. let, which had already been partly shaped insulating strips on its borders and major skeletal planting in front of the garden. In ages 1983-1984 solved VUKOZ state task Determination of the range for the planting of greenery in settlements and landscape. Peren addressing issues following subtasks:

Ratings and comprehensive determination of selected species Planting perennials for extreme site conditions – Ing. Marek Hamata

Ornamental plants and low floor coverings – Ing. Marie Součková

State task was completed in 1987 and outputs were published in the final report in 1987. In 1988 this object is restored, But after the events of the year 1989 these activities were phased out. VUKOZ moved from the Ministry of Agriculture under the Ministry of Environment, where horticultural research did not have the same support, As in previous years,. Perenám but we devoted considerable attention throughout. Intensively worked primarily in the garden of long-hajními Peren. Our concern was mainly hosta, Bergenia, epimedium and ferns. Published results from that period but minimum.

Workshop Dendrological Garden

We are currently working on a project:

Research (non-productive) plants and their application in future landscape and settlements.

taxonomic revision, ratings, concentration of research and application of non-productive plant germplasm

01 Revision, evaluation and concentration of plant genetic resources.
The aim of the task is gathering, registration and evaluation of cultural gene pool of plants, unused for agricultural production, From the perspective of cultivation in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic. examining old, underrated Czech cultivars of ornamental plants, evaluation and implementation of promising new cultivars.

It dwells denivkám, pivoňkám, ozdobnicím and we continue to continue to work with hosta and epimedium. In the garden for the third year in progress phenological evaluation and measurement of a wide range of perennials. The print ready output of the evaluation range Miscanthus, peonies, geranium and bohyšek. Tables used to guide the perennials and their cultivars in their practical use in plantations. Ranked assortment of perennials were planted in 2002-2004. Guest been running since 2005 (in addition to the family Cough, which was evaluated since 1997-2007) and it focuses on the overall appearance of the individual cultivars. In 2006 perenářské, our activities expanded to include the study of perennial blends suitable for the urban environment, using the principles of self-regulation with low maintenance. They are prepared comparative experiments prospective genera perennials.
